Located in an ideal neighborhood, a contemporary yet elegant aesthetic is infused throughout the home that was originally built in 1994. The owners wanted to create a sanctuary for raising their young children. With ties to Minnesota, Africa, England, and Florida, This couple’s style influences needed to be seamlessly blended together to create something truly unique, luxurious, and inspiring. They interviewed and engaged with a handful of builders and architects before deciding on WEST BAY HOMES to bring their desires to life. We removed walls, designed custom new contemporary windows, and glass exterior doors. These new architectural features, or lack-there-of paired with new wide-plank wood flooring, new paint throughout, new carpeting, new electrical, and new designer lighting throughout made great contributions to changing the vibe of this estate home.
We didn’t stop there. We completely updated two fireplaces in the home. To change these features dramatically, we deleted a fireplace in the Study and utilized this space for custom build-ins in the now-Children’s Nursery and added two closet systems, a custom Queen-size bunk bed with lighting feature, and a book ledge with a hidden door. This hidden door element reveals an adorable newly-introduced Kids’ Bathroom within the luxury Nursery space. The Master Bathroom went from a dingey beige haze to a bright and vibrant Master Bathroom with the use of designer and marble tiles, custom cabinetry systems, and matte brass plumbing fixtures. heated tile flooring and a steam shower add to the newly-imagined Master Bathroom experience. Though the Kitchen layout was not changed, we transformed the Kitchen by replacing the existing elements such as the heavy soffits, track lighting, and bar-height countertops to name a few! We introduced new custom cabinetry designed with a cabinetry door featuring the remodeled Laundry and new chic Pantry space to add greater functionality! Cambria quartz countertops, new tile backsplash, and tile around the skylight that once had track lighting around the perimeter now has a wood beam with designer pendant lights suspending to highlight the island below. Shiplap, beams, and new lighting were added to the Family Room where the ceiling and architectural black windows and doors dramatically update the space. The Powder Bathroom now wows with an assortment of textural tiles, lighting elements, shelving, and designer wallpaper. The Basement Bar received a wood tile treatment, concrete sink, and black stainless sink faucet and open display shelving. The Sunken media Room is now a light and inviting space with new wood flooring, graphic carpeting, and new wall and millwork finishes. We added an entire In-Law Suite with a Bedroom space—perfect for lounging and with a full Bathroom. The list goes on, but these are some of the highlights for this bold and elegant family retreat.
